Cheryl McClelland, 66, of Middletown, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side Jan. 17, 2022. She was born in Long Branch, grew up in Leonardo and moved to Middletown in 1986.

Cheryl was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She worked as a cosmetologist and owned and operated Sebastian’s Hairem for 46 years. She loved volunteering for the Look Good Feel Good Program. Cheryl was also a past member of the Policeman’s Wive’s Association. She loved shopping for the best deals and adored her family, especially her beloved grandsons.

Surviving are her husband of 45 of years, Ronald McClelland; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheri and Stelios Gatanas and Lisa and Brian Henschel; grandsons Flynn and Gunnar Henschel; sisters Donna Tactikos and Lynda (Mark) Rorhman; brother Michael Muratore; and many nieces, nephews, lifelong friends and clients.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Sebastian and Anne Muratore, father-in law William McClelland and her brothers-in-law, Peter Tactikos, William (Pete) McClelland and J. Steven McClelland.

Visitation was held Jan. 23 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral liturgy was offered Jan. 24 at St. Agnes’ RC Church, Atlantic Highlands. Entombment followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
