Christina Van Pelt, 92, of Shrewsbury, passed away May 15, 2025. She was born Dec. 25, 1932, in Marple, England, to the late Herbert and Elizabeth Beale. While in England, she worked at the Bredbury Steelworks until she met her future husband, Lester.

In 1954, she moved to the states, where she and Lester married in April of 1954. During their 71 years together, they settled in Shrewsbury, where they welcomed two children, Linda and Paul. While residing in Shrewsbury, Christina was a dedicated housewife and became a member of the Daughters of the British Empire.

Christina was predeceased by her husband Lester, parents Herbert and Elizabeth Beale, her sister Dorothy Roman, and daughter Linda Cook. She is survived by her son Paul and his wife Connie Melissa of Farmingdale, grandsons Douglas and Andrew Cook of Henrico Virginia, as well as extended family members.

Christina enjoyed tending to her garden. She and Lester enjoyed traveling back to England, where they spent time with extended family and visited the countryside.
