Christine (Chris) Findlay of Tinton Falls passed away peacefully Sept. 10, 2025, at the age of 77. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary R. Findlay née Trube and George Y. Findlay. She is survived by her sister Barbara Wolkiewicz; her brothers, Gary Findlay (Beverly) and John Findlay (Jeannette); nine nieces and nephews; and three great-nieces.
Chris was born Oct. 1, 1947, in New York and lived on Long Island and in New York City before settling in Monmouth County in the early 1970s. She lived her life on her own terms; a true free spirit whose entrepreneurial drive led her to build and operate a successful photography business. In later years, she brought that same determination to her work in real estate.
She was happiest on the water and enjoyed sailing whenever she had the chance.
As the family historian, Chris was the keeper of stories and memories. Through her photographs and gift for remembering the smallest details, she preserved the family’s history and ensured they would never forget where they came from.
Strong-willed and determined, Chris stood her ground and never allowed herself to be taken advantage of. She will be remembered for the way she lived authentically, with courage and independence, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Chris to the American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org.
