COLTS NECK – The Colts Neck PTO is pleased to announce the return of its celebrated kitchen tour from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 2.
The self-guided tour offers a rare opportunity to step inside some of Colts Neck’s most magnificent homes. Ten homes will be featured – from a beautifully renovated farmhouse kitchen to the latest design trends in newly constructed homes and a magnificent 31,000-square-foot grand estate.
In addition to viewing the work of the expert interior designers and consultants who helped to bring these homes to life, tour participants can whet their appetite with tastings from top area chefs. Each home will feature an elegant tablescape to be raffled off at the end of the tour.
“We are excited to host this wonderful event in the spring this year,” said Pam Molloy, Colts Neck PTO president. “It’s such a beautiful time to visit Colts Neck, explore these lovely homes and see all the beauty our town has to offer both inside and out. The tour features extraordinary homes, each with unique details that will surely inspire all who attend.”
Highlights of the tour include whole house transformations, culturally inspired architecture, dazzling new construction and unparalleled estate homes. Participants can visit the kitchen of cookbook author Hina Balar and see where her culinary creations become reality. Balar is the coauthor of “The Ingredients Matter: India” with Urmi M. Patel and Shilpa P. Saxena, M.D.  In addition to kitchens, the tour will include fabulous interiors, beautiful outdoor spaces, pool houses, wine cellars, home theaters and game rooms.
Details on all of the exquisite kitchens can be found in the tour program, which attendees will receive as their ticket to the event. The program will provide information on the talented builders, craftsman and designers who conceived each kitchen’s function and beauty to make them a stunning reality for the homeowners. Docents will be on hand to answer questions.
In each home on the tour, participants will be offered tastings from local chefs and eateries, including the renowned cuisine of Restaurant Nicholas of Red Bank; rustic Italian flavors of Via 45 of Red Bank; the culinary flair of Chef Michael Thompson of Chef Michael’s Café of Wall; sweet treats from DOCO The Donut and Coffee Company of Farmingdale, and many other savory and mouthwatering morsels from area top chefs.
All guests who purchase tickets online by midnight April 15 will be eligible for a drawing to win limo service for the event. One winner and five guests will be able to experience the tour in style with a limo to escort them to each home on the tour, courtesy of CAT Limousine of Freehold.
The tour kicks off at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 2, at the Colts Neck Library. Participants can purchase tickets or pick up those purchased in advance. The tour concludes at 2:30 p.m. with raffle drawings immediately following at the Colts Neck Public Library. Tickets for the event are $40 in advance, $45 the day of the event. Proceeds benefit PTO-funded programs for the children in the Colts Neck School District.
