Craig E. Widmaier, 64, passed away peacefully May 21, 2023, at Riverview Medical Center. He was raised in Rumson and resided in Red Bank for the past 34 years. Craig attended Rumson-Fair Haven, Class of ’76. He then attended TCNJ where he studied industrial engineering, graduating in 1981.

Craig was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Ruth Widmaier, his brother Eric A. Widmaier, as well as his aunt Carolyn Florence Wagner.

Craig is survived by his two children, Lindsey and her husband Chip Nolan of Lincroft and Gregory of Voorhees whom he cherished and who brought him great pride. Craig received a new granddaughter, Saylor Nolan, who brought him immense joy during his final months. Throughout his journey, he touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

In his professional life, Craig retired early as a successful quality assurance engineer from Becton Dickinson after 25-plus years of service. During his career, which he dedicated himself to, Craig traveled the world and collaborated on patents that progressed developments in medical science.

Outside of work, Craig had many passions and interests. He enjoyed sailing and spending time at the beach on the sands of Sea Bright. He also loved listening to local music and playing drums. Craig also grew up as a waterfowl hunter where he would bond with his friends on the Shrewsbury River; later in life he enjoyed the sport with his son. 

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 3 at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank.
