Michael Czarnecki, 74 of Brick, formerly of Atlantic Highlands and Highlands, passed away suddenly on Jan. 5. He retired from Honeywell in 2000 and thoroughly enjoyed every day of his retirement. Most mornings he could be found on the tennis court and most afternoons he would be at the dog park with his four-legged buddy.
He was a loving husband and an amazing father who would do anything he could for his family.
One of his favorite traditions was making pierogis for the family for the holidays. He tried to teach his children and grandchildren the secret family recipe but so far none has taken on the challenge.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Eleanor, and his brother, Joseph. He is survived by his wife Cathy of Brick; his sons, Robert and his wife Holly of Oakhurst, and Kevin of Atlantic Highlands; his daughters, Janet Lukachyk and her husband Scott of Sarasota, Florida, and Christa and her fiancé Lisa Stuto of Lakewood; his grandchildren Rachel Allen and husband Zeke of Wesley Chapel, Florida, Scott Lukachyk and his wife Haley of Sarasota, Florida, and Kyle Czarnecki of Oakhurst; and three great-grandchildren, Riley and Trenton Lukachyk, and Bryce Allen.
Visitation was Jan. 7 at the Thompson Memorial Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Jan. 8 at St. Dominic’s RC Church. Interment followed at Bayview Cemetery, Leonardo.
