Edith Dadenas, of Madison, Connecticut, formerly of Little Silver, passed away at her home Aug. 12 with her devoted daughters at her side. She was the loving wife of the late James Dadenas for 62 years.

Edie was born Oct. 29, 1926 in Chatsworth to the late Samuel and Katherine Wills. For many years she was a highly regarded school secretary for the Red Bank Public School system, first for the superintendent and then for various principals. That is also where she met her husband Jim, an industrial arts educator.

In later years, she was secretary to the principal at Knollwood Elementary School in Fair Haven. Edie was a devoted mother to her two daughters and was the most proud of the wonderful life she built with her family in New Jersey. She and her family enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. during their summers off.

Upon retirement, she and her husband became snowbirds, enjoying the winters in Tamarac, Florida and the summers with their daughters and their spouses and their grandchildren in Madison, Connecticut.

She will be forever missed by her daughter Deborah Lynch and her husband Michael, and her daughter Susan Daub and her husband Marshall, all of Madison. “Queen Nana” will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Allison Lasko and her husband Brian, Hillary Hanna and her husband Craig, Kendall Daub, Christopher Daub, Stephen Lynch and Marissa Lynch.

She was predeceased by her brother Norman Wills.

Edie will also be missed by her nieces, nephews and friends who were all blessed to have known her.

A Memorial Service was held Aug. 18 directly in Christ Chapel, Madison, Connecticut. Burial immediately followed in West Cemetery, Madison.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
