David Gutierrez, 46, a longtime resident of Hazlet, passed away Feb. 18, 2021, after losing his battle with cancer. David was born March 2, 1974, in Jersey City, a son of the late Irene (Wunsch) and Gilbert Gutierrez. David and his family moved to Hazlet when he was a child and he graduated from Raritan High School where he later became a custodian. He worked there for the better part of 15 years before resigning last year.
David enjoyed fishing. He was a commercial clammer for years before an accident claimed his boat. He also liked to shoot a game of pool with his friends and play guitar on occasion.
David is survived by his wife, Deborah Bost Gutierrez, and his sister Danielle Gutierrez of Oregon. He also leaves behind his beloved Uncle Tony and his Aunt Gloria “TiTi,” along with many other aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 6-8 p.m. at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals153 Church Street, Belford. A funeral service will conclude the evening and a private cremation will follow.
