Diane Cumming, 82, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away Jan. 1, 2021 after a short illness.  Diane, known as Dinny, was a beloved sister and aunt. She grew up in Rumson and was an alumna of Rumson Country Day School. She graduated from St. Timothy’s School in Stevenson, Maryland and Garland Junior College in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dinny enjoyed a long career in finance with jobs at Dean Witter, Kidder Peabody and Optima Fund Management. She adored people and parties, and her keen wit was a constant source of laughter for her family and friends. Away from work, she spent her time playing bridge, meeting with her bible study group, and volunteering at the Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach. She always had a love for animals, especially dogs and horses.

Her sister Dorothy C. Scott and parents Dottie and Peter H.B. Cumming predeceased her. She is survived by her sister Susan C. McAlpin of Red Bank and nieces Merrill van den Broek (Darien, Connecticut), Melissa McAlpin (Freehold), and Laura Auch (Cornelius, North Carolina), and nephew Harold W. Scott III (Palm Springs, California).

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to secure.aspca.org/team/memorial-donations-in-honor-of-diane-cumming.
