Diane Marie Camilleri, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family April 3, 2021. Diane was born and raised in Brooklyn and attended Erasmus Hall High School.

Diane married the late James Camilleri July 20, 1969; he was the love of her life since sixth grade. Diane and James lived on Staten Island before settling in Middletown where they raised their two children. Diane was a teacher’s assistant for the Middletown Public School District for over 25 years.

Diane was the daughter of the late William and Doris Gallagher and loving wife of the late James Camilleri. She is survived by her son Christopher, daughter Jennifer, and her two amazing grandsons, James and Joseph. In addition, she is survived by her younger sister Doris Buhler and a host of family and friends who adored her.

Her favorite pastimes were watching her grandkids wrestle and play baseball. Anytime spent with her family was her favorite time. She enjoyed a backyard get together with her children and traveling to Boca Raton, Florida, with her friends. She loved growing up on Breezy Point Beach in the summers and never missed an episode of General Hospital in over 50 years. Diane had a heart of gold, was an incredible mother and even more incredible grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all including her rescue puppy Zoey.

Family and friends were invited to attend a visitation April 8 at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home in Middletown. A prayer service was held at the funeral home April 9, followed by  mausoleum entombment at Fairview Cemetery, Red Bank.
