Diane R. Pecorino McKeon, 76, of the Shadow Lake section of Middletown, passed away April 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Diane was born Sept. 22, 1947, in Jersey City, a daughter of the late Ruth and Frank Monprode. She was raised in the Bayshore area and then moved back to Jersey City in 1967 when she attended college and earned her nursing degree.

Diane went to work for the Jersey City public schools as a school nurse. She met her future husband, Gerry McKeon, while working at P.S. No. 40 school, where they became fast friends.

Diane had a special place in her heart for children, especially those with special needs. She was known for her caring nature and huge heart. Outside of work, Diane enjoyed gardening, tending to her plants, and spending time at the beach. Her love of the beach led her and Gerry to purchase a vacation home in St. Martin; they enjoyed many years vacationing there together.

Diane is survived by her husband, Gerald McKeon, along with her two daughters, Stephanie Pecorino-Caruso and her husband Jeffrey, and Janet Biller and her companion Mike Ellis. Diane also leaves behind two sisters, Marybeth Van Pelt and her husband Ernie, and Ellen Arnold; two brothers, James Monprode and his wife Susan and Mark Monprode and his wife Sue; along with two grandchildren, Ellen Hoffman and her fiancé David Larcara and Timothy Hoffman and fiancé Luke Adams.

Diane was predeceased by her brother Frank Monprode.

Friends and family paid their respects April 30 at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Service concluded the afternoon and a private cremation followed.

Diane will be deeply missed by all who knew her and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
