Dolores T. Staufenberg (née Walton) passed away April 28, 2021.

Dolores was born in Brooklyn in January 1936 to John and Nettie Walton. She married Robert (Bob) Staufenberg in May 1959. Together they raised four children. They moved their family to Middletown in 1970.

Dolores was a devoted wife and mother who always put the needs of her family before her own. She enjoyed shopping, bowling, the beach club and traveling in her early years. When her youngest child graduated from high school, she took classes to earn a certificate for medical billing and coding and worked for Drs. Cuccia and Bruno. She was a devout Catholic and served on the parish council at St. Mary’s Church and was a member of the Rosary Altar Security.

Dolores was predeceased by her parents; her sister Jean; her beloved husband Bob; and her beloved son Robert. She is survived by her daughters, Beth (Jim), Donna (Don), and Lynn; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her sister Gertrude; her brother John; her best friend Mary; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was May 4 at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral Mass was held May 5 at St. Mary Mother of God Church, Middletown.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation in Dolores’ memory.
