Donald F. Cannon, 81, of Tinton Falls, passed away May 1, 2022, peacefully with his son by his side. Don was born February 24, 1941, in Plainfield, son of the late Christine and James Cannon. He was raised in the Highlands, settling in Tinton Falls in 2004.
Don proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He provided security services for over 25 years at the New Jersey State Police Academy in Sea Girt before retiring in 2016. Don was a self-proclaimed workaholic. In his younger years, he owned gas/service stations and had a passion for motorcycles, classic cars and fishing. When he did have time outside of work, he enjoyed spending it with his family and friends.
Don is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Jennifer Cannon, along with his granddaughter Brianna, all of Hazlet. He was predeceased by his brother Robert.
Funeral services will be private with his final resting place beside his parents and brother at Bayview Cemetery.
