RED BANK – A parade of pricey, classic and colorful cars drove into Red Bank Sunday, Oct. 13 as part of an unusual multifaceted event to raise money and awareness for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The event unfolded at Ray Catena Mercedes-Benz of Edison and Ray Catena Audi Freehold, where car enthusiasts were treated to a cars-and-caffeine themed gourmet breakfast hour.

After “fueling up” at either dealership, the car owners cruised to the Garmany luxury clothing store on Broad Street, Red Bank at 10 a.m., many decorated with pink ribbons. “If anyone was in the area, all of a sudden they saw a mixture of 300 really cool cars, all driving down the road, like 15 Ferraris, 15 Lamborghinis, exotic Porsches,” said Doug Wells, general manager of Ray Catena, Edison. At Garmany, the store opened for a treasure hunt. Participants could also browse gift baskets and leave with a swag bag.

Several days after the event, donations to the Komen foundation are continuing to flow in, said Wells.
