Edward P. Mangan

Edward P. Mangan, 92, of Middletown, passed Oct. 5 at his home. Mr. Mangan was born in Orange and lived in Leonardo for 52 years before retiring to Florida and later settling in Georgia. After the passing of his beloved wife, Joyce, he returned to Middletown. 

He joined the Merchant Marines out of high school and then entered the United States Navy until honorably discharged in 1953. 

Mr. Mangan was a union carpenter out of the Newark Local until his retirement in 1980, and then he owned and managed, with his brother Paul, a campground outside of Disney World. 

Edward was the son of the late Patrick J. and Nora M. Mangan. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce M. Mangan, sister Veronica Egan and brother Paul J. Mangan. 

Surviving are his four sons, Patrick J. Mangan and his wife Margaret of Middletown; Edward A. Mangan and his wife Janeen of Cumming, Georgia; Mark J. Mangan and his wife Robyn of Waldwick; and Timothy J. Mangan and his wife Thao of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter Cynthisa M. Rubin and her husband Glen of Rome, Georgia; 16 grandchildren: Michael J. Mangan, Jennifer M. Mangan, Jake E. Mangan, Micky J. Mangan, Colby P. Mangan, Ty C. Mangan, Mark J. Mangan, Jr., Melissa M. Chace, Christopher J. Mangan, Ryan J. Mangan, Garrison L. Mangan, Marina T. Mangan, Nicholas L. Mangan, Matthew A. Rubin, Joshua E. Rubin, Kyle C. Rubin; and six great-grandchildren: Owen J. Mangan, Lielle O. Chace, Logan E. Chace, Eva R. Mangan, Jaxon M. Rubin and Ella M. Mangan. 

A Funeral Liturgy was offered Oct. 13 at St. Agnes’ RC Church, Atlantic Highlands. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
