Eileen L. Heidt, 93, of Little Silver and formerly Lincroft, passed away peacefully March 23, 2022. As in life, she was surrounded by her adoring family.

Eileen was the only child of Frederick and Emily Hildebrand. She was cherished from the start of her life by all who had the honor of knowing her. She was born and raised in Fairview and graduated from Cliffside Park High School where she made lifelong friends. Most importantly, it was there that she met her beloved husband William. They were married for 65 years before he passed away in 2016. Those were years of family, fun, laughter, travel and beach going.

Eileen graduated from Woods Secretarial School and worked for several years at International Films in New York City. Her true career began when she had her children for whom she dedicated her heart and soul. Her home was a place to which people gravitated and she welcomed all with open arms, humor and delicious food.

Anyone who knew Eileen knew her for her beautiful blue eyes and quick generous smile. She was gracious and kind, resilient and brave and, most of all, loving. Eileen loved music of all kinds and was a terrific dancer, but her true passion was animals. She adored her dogs and her grand dogs and was a champion to many charities for animal welfare.

Mom will forever be missed by her children, Robert and Betsey Heidt, Susan and Christopher Quinn, Jay Heidt and Kathleen Jones; her adoring grandchildren, Lauren, Jennifer, Kelly, Billy, Ryan, Brian and Alex and their spouses; and her great-grandchildren, Lucas, Olivia and Camryn. Her loving friend, confidant and caretaker Nina is broken-hearted to lose her angel.

Visitation with a prayer service was March 27 at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Eileen’s name to Monmouth County SPCA or The African Wildlife Foundation.
