With heavy hearts, the family of Eliza Judd announced the passing of their precious 23-year-old daughter April 21, 2025, in Livingston. A longtime resident of Rumson, Eliza is survived by her parents, Amy and Michael, brother William and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her loving grandparents, Tom and Dit Eadon and Michael and Ann Judd.

Eliza will be remembered as the young lady whose smile could light up a room. She was sweet, funny, and at times could be a little sassy! Despite the many challenges she faced in life, she was always happy and brought much joy to those around her.

Her biggest loves were water and music. Eliza loved any kind of water, though her favorite was going in the pool, especially with her dad. From the moment her feet hit the water, the joy she conveyed was immeasurable. Her brother, Will, would always add an additional element of fun to the equation.

Eliza also loved to “dance” to almost any music and had one of the widest tastes in music; from popular music like Adele and Taylor Swift to heavy metal and Cajun, she was always tapping her feet and sometimes even “singing” along.

People say that it takes a village to raise a child, and in this case, it did. While Eliza was affectionately cared for by her family, her nanny Monica and numerous nurses and aids over the years were instrumental in giving Eliza a wonderful life. The family was blessed to have had so many caring individuals become part of their extended family, at home and later at Eliza’s group home and day program. It was Eliza who would win over their hearts. Her marvelous disposition and love of gossip made it a pleasure to be with her.

From the age of 3, she attended Hawkswood School. With the help of numerous devoted teachers and therapists, Eliza worked hard and achieved many things that made her family so proud. She was an amazing young lady!

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, at the Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Road, Fair Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eliza’s memory to the school she attended for 19 happy years. Please make checks payable to “Hawkswood PTO” and send to Andrew Orefice, Hawkswood School, 270 Industrial Way West, Eatontown, NJ 07724. Arrangements are under the direction of Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank.
