Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Halvorsen, 78, of Wallace, South Carolina, died Feb. 14, 2023. Born April 18, 1944, in Long Branch, she was a daughter of the late Henning M. and Ida Caroline Taylor Halvorsen. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, and a master’s degree from SUNY Buffalo. She was an avid reader and a history buff who enjoyed traveling and music. Elizabeth also learned to speak Norwegian.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Henning Martin Halvorsen Jr. and a sister, Jean Chase.
Mrs. Halvorsen leaves behind to cherish her memory a son, John Sturgill (Ann) of Morven, North Carolina; daughters Angelene Sturgill of Wallace, South Carolina, and Michele Sturgill Druffner (Keith) of Kennesaw, Georgia; a sister Mary Holland of Highlands; grandchildren, Noah B. Sturgill, Mariah C. James (Jasper), Elijah J. DeHosse (Meagan), Sarah E. Wagner and Micheal K. Wagner; and four great-grandchildren.
