Elizabeth “Binky” Oswald, 53, of Belford, passed away Oct. 16, 2023, in Neptune, surrounded by her family. She was born in Red Bank and lived in Belford for most of her life.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents John J. and Shirley A. Oswald.

After graduating from Middletown North, Liz graduated from Katharine Gibbs School and the Capri Institute. She worked as the secretary/treasurer for Oswald Enterprises Inc. since 1993. Liz was an avid supporter of The Lymphoma Research Foundation, The Rainbow Foundation, The North Shore Animal League, The Best Friends Animal Society and The Chi Society.

She was an animal lover, an avid reader, and enjoyed ceramics and latch hooks as well as spoiling her fur babies.

Liz had a heart of gold, was always the first to offer help to those in need and was loved by all who knew her. Her laughter was infectious and she was always up for a good joke or a laugh and lighthearted teasing was her specialty. Birthdays and holidays without her or her special peanut butter pie will never be the same.

Surviving are her two sisters, Cathy Read and Patty Oswald; aunt Joan Treadway; three cousins, Brian Treadway, Michael Treadway, his wife Allison and four children, and Albert Oswald.

Visitation was held Oct. 20 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A Funeral Mass was offered Oct. 21 at St. Catherine’s Church, Middletown. Burial followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Elizabeth’s name to The Chi Society, North Shore Animal League or The Best Friends Animal Society.
