Elizabeth Anne Knopf and Michael Anthony Romano were married June 1 on the front lawn of the Rumson home of the bride’s parents, Claire and Woody Knopf, followed by a reception overlooking the Navesink River.
Rabbi Marc Kline of Monmouth Reform Temple, Tinton Falls, officiated.
The bride’s sister, Catherine Grace Knopf, maid of honor, and 10 bridesmaids, a junior bridesmaid and a flower girl attended the bride.
Ray Haddad was the best man, accompanied by groomsmen, junior groomsmen, three ring bearers and Quinn, Elizabeth’s dog.
Elizabeth graduated from Rumson Country Day School in Rumson, The Peddie School in Hightstown and received her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She holds a Master of Science in Teaching in early childhood education and special education from Fordham University in New York. She is currently a pre-K teacher at East Harlem Scholars Academy in New York City.
Michael is the son of Suzanne Romano of Atkinson, New Hampshire and Robert Romano of Bluffton, South Carolina.
Originally from Atkinson, Michael attended Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He graduated cum laude from Northeastern University’s D’Amore-McKim School of Business in Boston, Massachusetts, where he studied finance and economics. He is now working for the cybersecurity firm ForeScout Technologies, Inc.
The couple met in 2014 in New York City and were introduced by a mutual friend. They reside in New York City and for their honeymoon they plan to visit Hong Kong on their way to New Zealand and the Fijian Islands on June 29.
