It is with heavy hearts that the family of Evelyn B. Nooney announced her peaceful passing May 16, 2023, at 89 years old. Her children were beside her and she will be remembered as a caring, loving mother especially devoted to her family.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents John (Jack) Curley and Mary Elizabeth Curley. She is survived by her sons, John Nooney and wife his Heidi, Brian Nooney and his wife Nora, and Martin Nooney; daughter Mary Nelson and husband Tom; sister Joan Dziemian; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn had an undeniable love for God and life itself. Her faith and family defined her life.

She loved family get-togethers, cooking on the grill, going to the beach, and just spending time with the family. She loved her newspaper and a cup of coffee in the morning while she worked on her list of priorities to accomplish each day. Her taste in music was diverse, with Bruce Springsteen and Frank Sinatra being just a few of her favorites. She was also an avid sports fan, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Yankees.

Evelyn’s life was full because she made it so. Her memory will leave an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew her. Rest in peace, Evelyn. Your love and kindness will continue to inspire us all.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. June 15 at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 94 Broad St., Red Bank. Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
