SHREWSBURY – NJ Real Estate Prep, a state-approved provider of pre-licensing training for real estate salespersons and brokers located in Shrewsbury announced its first graduating class since the New Jersey Real Estate Commission approved online training in March. The class of approximately 20 students completed coursework on April 17.

“We have long been a vocal proponent of online training for pre-licensing in New Jersey,” said Thomas McCormack, owner of NJ Real Estate Prep. “Technology for education has advanced greatly and most universities include online courses in their curriculum. We think it is certainly appropriate for real estate pre-licensing and are very pleased with the results thus far.”

Availability for remote training has attracted candidates from near and far with several students registering from out-of-state, including New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. NJ Real Estate Prep has been conducting multiple classes in April with one evening and two daytime class schedules presented by instructors with decades of practical and educational experience including Frank Felice, director of NJ Real Estate Prep and lead instructor who conducted the first online class.

Previously, coursework for pre-licensing was only conducted in classroom settings but in response to the COVID-19 health crisis, the commission announced on March 30, that temporarily it will allow the required 75 hours of pre-licensing training to take place online via live video conferencing with a licensed instructor.

Once completing the pre-licensing course, a candidate may schedule sitting for the state exam. Although exam centers have been closed during the emergency, the testing centers are currently scheduling exam appointments for May.

Upcoming class schedules and registration information for both salesperson and broker pre-licensing is available at at njreprep.com.
