Create interest in any room with this eclectic selection of wall confections
by Julie Davis
Walls are a blank canvas, begging to be adorned. Left bare, they’re simply an afterthought to the rest of your decor. Creatively embellished, they become a focal point of your home. “Hanging something personal and collected like framed coins or matches from a trip abroad, a local nautical map or flea market finds makes a space feel layered and interesting, and creates conversation,” says Kelli Suozzo, owner of Bowerbird, an interior design boutique based in Red Bank. Adds Lauren Guarcello of Porter Design Company in Fair Haven, “The main objective of adding pieces or texture to the wall is to create balance in a space. Adding art or any interesting object draws your eye upward and around the room creating a more harmonious space.”
A hunt around the Two Rivers turned up a plethora of sweet finds, including these five favorites, all of which are sure to put any dull wall on a major sugar high.
