Frances Marion Ruane

Frances “Fran” Marion Ruane of Fair Haven peacefully passed away Jan. 2. She was born in Leonardo and raised in Rome, New York by loving parents Veronica and Frank Gallagher. Fran was predeceased by her parents and brother James Gallagher. She is survived by her sister Barbara Deigert of New Monmouth and sister Patricia Curro and her husband Samuel Curro of Oneida, New York.

She leaves behind her beloved son John Ruane III and his wife Marianne of Middletown. Fran is also survived by her five grandchildren and their families: Jenny Ruane of Fort Mill, South Carolina; Maggie and Andrew LaBarbera of Fair Haven; John Ruane IV of Middletown; Michael and Gabriella Ruane of Red Bank; and Brian Ruane of Middletown. She was blessed with her four great-grandchildren, Andrew LaBarbera Jr., Mila LaBarbera, Liam Ruane and Domenic Ruane and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Fran worked in the restaurant industry before starting at Ellis Kuhnke Controls, Inc. as an associate and rising to partner and eventually vice president of the company and ran the business successfully for many years.

Fran was a dedicated communicant of St. James Church in Red Bank. 

Visitation was held Jan. 6 at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 7 at St. James Roman Catholic Church of Red Bank. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Breast Intentions, P.O. Box 926, Middletown, NJ 07748, a charity that was near and dear to her heart.
