Francis R. Lewis, 90, a long-time resident of Red Bank, passed away March 9, 2023. Born at St. Ann’s Hospital in Manhattan to Francis R. and Agnes M. Lewis, Francis was one of three children. Raised in a family of deep faith, Francis attended Catholic schools throughout his youth. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After completing college, Francis worked for many years in communications at Fort Monmouth.

A devoted long-time parishioner of St. James Church in Red Bank, he also served dutifully with the Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his parents, Francis and Agnes, Francis was predeceased by his brother, Paul G. (Janet) Lewis Sr. and by three nephews, Paul G. Lewis Jr., Christopher J. Lewis and John F. Lewis. Francis is survived by his loving sister Eileen Lewis; his devoted nieces, Elaine (Paul) Perrucci and Jennifer (Thomas) Lewis Rondeau; his great-niece Stephanie Perrucci; great-nephews, Anthony Perrucci and Kyle Lewis; and his great-great-niece Ella Morgan.

Family and friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 23 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24 at St. James Church, 94 Broad St., Red Bank. Immediately following, Francis will be laid to rest with his parents at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W. Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, New York.
