Janet E. Gehlhaus, 97, of Middletown, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Feb. 7. She was born in New York, New York, and lived in Middletown for 57 years.
Janet was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. Janet and her husband traveled by plane in the Far East and South Pacific in the 1950s and 60s, before it was popular to do so. They were early members of “The Jet Age.”
She also spent some of her time doing volunteer work and was an early member of the Women’s Club of Middletown.
Janet was predeceased by her husband, Henry Gehlhaus, in 1999. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Allison Gehlhaus II, and William and Jane Gehlhaus; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, Feb.11 at 10:30 a.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
