Genevieve Kane (née Starnes), 83, of Middletown, passed away June 13, 2021, at Bayshore Hospital in Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, she moved to Middletown in 1965.
Mrs. Kane was a parishioner of St. Catherine’s RC Church in Middletown and for many years worked in the parish thrift shop. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling with her husband and making memories with her family at their vacation home in Pennsylvania. Her greatest joy was her family who will miss her dearly.
She was predeceased by her husband John Kane in 1997 and her son Kevin Kane in 2013. Surviving are her children and their spouses: Susan Whalen, John Kane and Doris, William Kane and Joyce, James Kane, Joseph Kane and Denise, Veronica Noone and Pat, Brian Kane and Lisa, and Karen Kane; her 23 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Alice Nestor and Teresa Coogan.
Visitation was June 17 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral Liturgy was offered June 18 at St. Catherine’s RC Church in Middletown. Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
