John Gilligan, M.Div., 61, of Middletown, died peacefully Nov. 7. He was born in Red Bank to the late David and Geraldine (née Nesbihal) Gilligan. John devoted 30 years of service to Middletown Township. He was a mainstay and constant at St. Catherine Laboure Church in North Middletown.
Surviving are his half-sister Patricia Gilligan and his cousin George Ruf.
Visitation was held Nov. 12 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Funeral services were Nov. 13 at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy was offered Nov. 13 at St. Catherine’s Church, Middletown. Burial followed at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
