Robert Griggs Sr., 77, of Inverness, Florida and formerly of New Jersey, passed away on March 5 in Livingston surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 3, 1939 in New Brunswick. Robert is survived by his brother, George, and his three loving children.

How do you squeeze a life-time of memories into a small paragraph or two? You can’t, but what can be said is that Robert Griggs Sr. has moved on from here to share an eternity with his life-long companion and loving wife, Mary. In both life and death the two were and are inseparable.

Rarely is a legacy built in a moment and Robert’s is no exception. Forged over time through the friends that he had and the family that he loved and cared so deeply for. Robert or “Bob” as he was affectionately known, met his wife Mary in their teenage years and their love blossomed into a 57-year marriage. Together they worked hard to raise a family and run their business, Loyal Fabricators located in Woodbridge. Bob’s generosity extended beyond financial support for others, but often giving the most precious of gifts, his time. And so it goes that his three children, Robert, Elaine and Theresa and spouses, Linda and Paul are left to raise the next generation, Alexandria, Austyn, Cheyenne, Brendan, Bryce, Ryan and Stella. It is their responsibility to pass on his tradition of outstanding character and morals that Robert gifted them with.

All his success, love, compassion and wisdom will continue to live on in his children, grandchildren and friends. This is how he will be remembered, his legacy. It is his gift to his children and to their children’s children.

God has accepted him with open arms into heaven and his family and friends can take comfort and draw peace of mind in that he is once again home and within us. Amen.
