Robert A. Hyer, 47, a lifelong resident of Middletown, peacefully passed away Dec. 3 at Riverview Medical Center.

Bob was a truck driver with  R.J. Davis Transportation out of York, Pennsylvania. When he was not working, Bob enjoyed riding his motorcycle and driving around with his stepfather in his ’57 Chevy. He also enjoyed being around water, whether swimming in his pool or spending time at the beach. One of Bob’s favorite pastimes was playing games. He loved to play cards or shoot a game of pool with his dad and his son was a fierce opponent in chess and Monopoly.

Robert is survived by his mother and stepfather, Linda and Harold Stover, and his father and stepmother Clarence and Nina Hyer. He also leaves behind his son Robert M. Hyer, along with his mother Danielle Menna; his sister and brother-in-law, Valerie and Edward O’Neill; his brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Lois Hyer; and his nieces and nephews: Edward, Katie, Amanda and Kyle.

A Celebration of Life was held Dec. 9 at Yesterday’s Restaurant in Hazlet.
