Irene Adele Mansfield

Irene Adele Mansfield (née Zeidler) died at home Jan. 24, 2021, in Rumson. She was 96.

Irene was born on Long Island. She graduated from Syracuse University. After marrying her husband, John Mansfield, in 1947, the Mansfields moved to Cliffside Park where they raised their seven children. 

She was an active member of Epiphany Roman Catholic Church in Cliffside Park. Irene enjoyed cooking for her large family, playing cards with friends, caring for one of the many cats she had adopted through the years, and listening to Frank Sinatra. 

Irene is survived by her seven children: Nancy Skiff of Rumson; Gail Mansfield of Rumson; Kathy Barnes of Chalfont, Pennsylvania; John and his wife Jane Mansfield of St. Louis, Missouri; James and his wife Blanca Mansfield of Manhattan, New York; David Mansfield of Queens, New York; and Robert Mansfield of Manhattan, New York. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her eldest grandson, Samuel Skiff, passed away in 2020. Irene will be buried next to her late husband, John, in Fort Lee. 

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated with immediate family at Holy Cross Church in Rumson. Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, was entrusted with the arrangements.
