Irma Marks Meyer

Irma Marks Meyer, 90, of Jupiter, Florida, and Little Silver, died peacefully at home Feb. 3, 2022.

Irma was born Nov. 19, 1931 at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick to parents Harry Herman and Vallie Attinger Marks.  She received her Bachelor of Arts from Douglass College in 1953.  She then attended and graduated from Katharine Gibbs School. She worked at Raymond Lowy Associates in New York City.

In 1956 she married Maurice Meyer III, also known as Peter, who predeceased her in 2019 after 62 wonderful years of marriage. They moved to Red Bank for three years before moving to Fair Haven in 1962, where they remained for the next 40 years and raised their family.

Irma was very active in her religious life. She was a member of Sisterhood at Monmouth Reform Temple for many years and served on the Temple’s Monmouth Festival of the Arts committee as well. She was also an early active member of the Monmouth Cancer Ball Committee.

She is survived by her loving children, Bruce Meyer and his fiancé Collette Henderson, Barbara Keating and her husband Tom, and Richard Meyer and his wife Bonnie. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Kenneth and Addie Meyer, Caroline and Hillary Keating, and Alexandra and Harrison Meyer.

The family would like to especially thank Aspa Nitis and Claudia Francis, who took exceptionally loving care of Irma these last three years.
