Janet Haley, age 69, passed away peacefully Oct. 24, 2021, in Red Bank, with loving family members present. Janet was born July 14, 1952, on Staten Island to William and Rosemary Noone. She lived in Venice, Florida, with her husband James and close to her brother Kenneth. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend and godmother and she will be greatly missed.
Janet started her secretarial career as an executive secretary at First Boston in Manhattan. She left that job to raise three beautiful children. After the children were settled, Janet felt the need to return to work (she was never known to sit still) as an executive assistant to the superintendent in the Middletown School District for many years until she retired in 2014.
She loved spending time with her family, traveling and playing golf. She was an avid walker, a dog lover and a phenomenal cook. Janet was respected for her positive outlook and caring ways by all who knew her.
Janet is survived by her husband James Haley; her three children, son James (Rita) Haley and daughters, Megan (Michael) Murphy and Kerry Haley; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Thomas and Sean Murphy; brother Kenneth Noone; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her sister Grace Campbell; father Willliam Noone; and mother Rosemary Ruocchio.
A Memorial Mass was offered Oct. 28 at St. Mary Mother of God Church, Middletown. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution in Janet’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Arrangements are under the direction of John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
