Frederick A. Jardine, 86, of Red Bank, died at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank on Saturday, March 12. He was born in Kearney, moved to Schenectady, New York, in 1945 and Westfield in 1966.
Mr. Jardine served in the United States Navy from 1948 to 1949 and received an Honorable Discharge. He worked in the printing industry for 50 years. He was with Bench, Inc. of Schenectady, and vice president of sales with Niagara Systems of Buffalo. He became fundraising marketing manager at Webcraft Technologies, Inc. of North Brunswick and retired in 1999. He married Dorothy Kathan of Little Silver in 1999 and moved to Shrewsbury in 2004.
Mr. Jardine enjoyed boating and wildlife, especially bird watching. He and his wife spent summers at their vacation home on the Great Sacandaga Lake in the Adirondack Mountains.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Susan Chequer of Schenectady in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Kathan); his son, Frederick A. Jardine Jr. and his wife Susanna (Sullivan) of Hightstown; a grandson, Cooper of Irvine, California; a stepdaughter, Sandra Blakelock of Little Silver; step-sons, Donald Blakelock of West Hartford, Connecticut, and David Blakelock of Needham, Massachusetts.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 18 at 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury, 351 Sycamore Ave., Shrewsbury. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery.
