Jean Pieper, 98, of Middletown, passed away peacefully June 1 at her residence. Jean was the widow of Robert Ralston and Dr. Howard Pieper. She was active in the Middletown Republican Party, serving as secretary and vice chairman. She was the first women in Middletown to run for local political office.
Jean was employed as a real estate agent and executive secretary for the Monmouth County Board of Realtors.
She is survived by her son Richard Ralston, her daughter Robin Higgins and niece Nancy Presnell. She has 12 grandchildren and countless great-grandchildren.
Jean was laid to rest June 5 at Fairview Cemetery in Red Bank. Funeral arrangements were handled by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
