Jess Peterson passed away at age 61. Jess was born in Red Bank and grew up in Lincroft. After graduating from high school, he attended Johnson and Wales University, then achieved his goal of becoming an executive chef.
He worked at his profession for 40 years. This also went hand-in-hand with his wanderlust, living and working in such places as Okinawa, Japan, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Jess leaves behind three children, Jess Jr., Angela and Adam; his sisters Dawn, Teresa and Sandra; and brothers Scott and Stuart.
He was predeceased by his parents, Morgan (Pete) and Stella Peterson.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Sept. 27 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
