Jo-Ann Fitzpatrick

Jo-Ann Fitzpatrick, 74, of Atlantic Highlands, formerly of Red Bank, passed away May 19, 2023, at Riverview Medical Center.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Bea and Joseph Fitzpatrick. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas Grammar School, St. Brendan’s High School and Brooklyn College. She began her business career at Schenley Industries and Columbia Pictures as a data processor. Her love of sales and cosmetics, which she developed at a young age, led her to work at Revlon and then Chanel where she was an account manager. Her enthusiasm for her products made it possible for a client who came in for a new shade of lipstick to go home happily with a whole new skincare regimen, a complete set of the latest makeup collection and a new fragrance; needless to say, she was very passionate and talented with regards to her career.

Jo-Ann loved to play and watch tennis, listen to Andrea Bocelli, watch old movies and PBS television and was a “Law and Order” “groupie.” Jo-Ann was an avid reader, learning to read before she started school. She was a constant source of book recommendations and happily shared her love of the written word. Additionally, Jo-Ann was an animal lover and was predeceased by her beloved cat Gracie.

Passionate about community service, Jo-Ann was a 36-year member and past president of the Rumson Women’s Club and member of the Past President’s Club of the Shore District. Jo-Ann was placed on the Honor Roll in 2018 for continuous service to her club and the community.

Jo-Ann, affectionately known as Jammie, was a devoted and fun-loving aunt to her goddaughter Lindsay and nephew Ryan. She attended every life milestone she could manage and took great pride in all their accomplishments.

Jo-Ann was predeceased by her parents, Bea and Joseph Fitzpatrick.

A loving sister, aunt and great-aunt, Jammie is survived by sister Linda and her husband Steve Babeuf, formerly of Rumson and now Middletown, Delaware; sister Theresa Savino and her husband Joe and dear friend Mark Zipoli of Santa Monica, California; niece Lindsay of New York, New York; nephew Ryan and his wife Liz and great-nephews and niece John, Pearl and Lawrence of Havertown, Pennsylvania.

Family and friends may visit from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, May 26 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. A funeral service will commence at the funeral home at noon, followed by burial at Fair View Cemetery in Middletown.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Monmouth County SPCA at monmouthcountyspca.org, the Mercy Center in Asbury Park at mercycenternj.org or the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs in New Brunswick at njsfwc.org.
