John Mahoney, 81, of Middletown, passed away Sept. 10, 2021, at Jersey Shore Center in Eatontown. Born in Hoboken, he moved to Middletown in 1980. Mr. Mahoney served in the U.S. Air Force before being honorably discharged. He was a civil engineer with Naval Weapon Station Earle in Colts Neck for over 40 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Diane Mahoney in 2014. Surviving are his daughter Jennifer Smith and her husband Ken, and his grandchildren Katie and Brendan. Funeral services will be held privately and are under the direction of John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
