John Quinn of Shrewsbury, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died Oct. 30, 2025, at the age of 69.

John was born in Newark to Marion (Logan) Quinn and John Quinn. He was been a resident of Shrewsbury for over 30 years. While at Manhattan College, he met his wife, Joanne, with whom he was married for 38 years.

John was a special education teacher at Red Bank Regional High School for over 30 years and continued to teach students as part of the home instruction programs for Rumson-Fair Haven High School and Holmdel High School. He was a gifted teacher who always sought to engage students where they were, with an open mind and heart.

Prior to becoming a father, he was a varsity football coach at Mater Dei High School and Red Bank Regional High School and was always happy to share his knowledge and expertise with anyone who asked. When two of his sons became high school coaches, John attended every game, cheering on RFH in football and Holmdel in lacrosse. He will be sorely missed in the stands.

John is survived by his wife, three sons, Chris (Marissa), Brendan (Hilary) and Patrick (Kristine) and five grandchildren, Murphy, Jamie, Parker, Piper and Reese.

A memorial visitation was held Nov. 2 at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. A memorial Mass was held Nov. 3 at St. James Church, Red Bank. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Multiple Myeloma Team at Hackensack University Hospital, John Theurer Cancer Center, 92 Second St., Hackensack, NJ 07601, in memory of John Quinn.
