John Rickman passed away May 13, 2021, at the age of 92. John spent his childhood years in Garwood. The family moved to Monmouth County in the mid 1940s.

John was drafted into the army during the Korean conflict and served here in the states as a sergeant working in communications.

He was married in 1951 to Beverly Franklin. John built their home in Riverside Heights and raised a family that included three children and resided in the same home for 68 years.

John worked for New Jersey Bell Telephone until retirement in 1988. He then enjoyed working with his son at Tech Electric Corps, Inc. as an electrician for over 22 years. John’s high school yearbook stated, “I would like to be an electrician” and he did so in the later stages of his life.

John and Beverly enjoyed sailing on the Navesink River, snowmobiling in the mountains of PAennsylvania and taking many vacations throughout the United States and the British Isles.

John was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Beverly, in 2007. His sister Evelyn passed away as a child and his sister Mary passed away only hours before John on the same day.

John is survived by his three children and their spouses: Susan Rickman-Grant and Bill Grant of Middletown; Diane Rickman-Davis and Calvin Davis of Millstone; and Paul J. Rickman and Deb Rickman, of Beachwood; as well as five grandchildren: Ian, Emily and Noah Grant, Phillip Davis and Bryn Rickman.

Visitation was held May 18 at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Interment took place at Fairview Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a donation in honor of John, please choose the The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) or The American Cancer Society.
