Joseph A. DeMaio, 69, of Middletown, passed away suddenly July 25, 2021. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and lived in Middletown for over 45 years. Joe graduated with a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University. In 1976, he started his career as an engineer at Bell Laboratories in Holmdel. He ended his career as a project manager with Verizon in 2018. He enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing and was a wine enthusiast.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 35 years Ellen (née Salerno); two sons, Joseph DeMaio and Thomas DeMaio; an identical twin brother Michael (Darlene) DeMaio; brother John DeMaio; sister Mary (Michael) Ehrgott; and nine nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rita DeMaio.
Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. Thursday, July 29 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 30 at the Church of St. Catharine, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel.
