Joseph J. Moschella, 94, of Lincroft, died Dec. 27, 2023.
Joseph was born Dec. 6, 1929, in Rosebank on Staten Island, to the late Carmela and Rosario Moschella. He graduated from New Dorp High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, as well as the VFW-Labetti Post in Rosebank. He received a bachelor’s degree from Wagner College and worked for Nassau Smelting and Refinery as an accountant for over 20 years before retiring.
Joseph enjoyed napping, Tuesday brunches at The Turning Point Restaurant, pool party BBQs, and watching sports and golf. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Edna Moschella.
Surviving are his daughters, Patricia Moschella and Kathleen Devine of Lincroft; his sister Dominica (Min) Coscia; his beloved granddaughters, Katelyn, Elizabeth and Allison Devine; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Jan. 4, 2024, at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A prayer service will be offered at 10 a.m. Jan. 5 at the funeral home, followed by entombment at Holmdel Cemetery, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
In lieu of flowers, Joseph’s family requests donations in his name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org or the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
