It is with deep sorrow that the family of Julius Bogad Jr., age 82, announces his passing Feb. 28, 2025, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank.
Julius was born in New York in 1942 to Maria (Garger) Bogad and Julius Bogad Sr., who predeceased him. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen (Kmak); his daughters, Laura Brzozowski and her partner Mark Adams, Karen (John) Dolan, and Donna (Stephen) Carney; grandchildren, John, Caitlin, Meghan, Chris and Brendan; and five great-grandchildren.
Julius and Helen moved to Middletown from Glendale, New York, in 1970 where together, they raised their family. He was a retired partner and electrical department head at Jaros, Baum and Bolles (n/k/a JBB) of New York, where he started his professional career as a draftsman in 1962 while attending night school at The City College of New York for 10 years to earn his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Some of the projects he was involved with throughout his distinguished career include the Sears Tower in Chicago (which was one of his favorites), 1 Bryant Park, Master Redevelopment at the World Trade Center, Times Square, the EPCOT Central Energy Plant, and data centers for NJ Bell, Morgan Stanley and Prudential, among others. He was a retired member of the New York City Electrical Advisory Board and Electrical Code Revision and Interpretation Committee, the NYC Energy Code and NYACEC Electrical Codes Committee.
Visitation was held March 2 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. He was laid to rest March 3 at Fairview Cemetery, Middletown.
