The Junior League of Monmouth County (JLMC) ushers in the holiday season with a two-day “Home for the Holidays” event at the Two River Theater, 21 Bridge Ave., Red Bank.
The holiday shop will be open 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday. More than 25 vendors will sell clothing for adults and children, jewelry, toys, food, home décor, specialty items and giftware.
Frosty’s Finds, the Junior League’s re-gift shop, offers new and gently used items from fashions to furnishings, and Rumson jeweler Goldtinker will purchase gold and silver.
Friday evening, a ladies’ Mix, Mingle and Jingle cocktail party, 6:30 – 9 p.m., will feature food and cocktails, private shopping, raffles and a silent auction. Tickets are $50.
Astrologer Pam Furlong will be available for 15-minute sessions during the cocktail party or 12 – 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Author and activist David Goldman will be the guest speaker at the Saturday luncheon. His recently released book, A Father’s Love: One Man’s Unrelenting Battle to Bring His Abducted Son Home, recounts
Goldman’s five-year struggle to return his young son back the U.S. from Brazil. Tickets for the luncheon are $50.
AT 2:30 p.m., actress Kim Zimmer will answer questions and share behind-the-scenes stories about her days on Guiding Light, the longest running drama in television history. Copies of her book, I’m Just Sayin’, will be available for sale and for signing.
Throughout the weekend The Academy of Dance Arts, Monmouth Day Care Center, Kick Dance Studio, Allegra Dance Company, Monmouth Conservatory of Music and the Kathryn Barnett School of Dance will provide entertainment for shoppers.

Proceeds from the weekend will support the JLMC, which prepares its members to serve as leaders and catalysts for change through extensive volunteer and leadership training. The JLMC’s current community focus is on empowering women in crisis to learn the basic life skills they need to be independent.
