Kathleen Joan Ferrone, 85, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully June 11, 2022. Kathleen was born in Queens, New York, and resided in Ho-Ho-Kus and Shrewsbury prior to moving to Leisure Village West in Manchester in 1995.

The daughter of Marion (Gutekunst) and Alfred E. Ford, she grew up in the Flushing section of Queens, graduating from St. Agnes High School in 1955. Upon graduation, Kathleen joined the Western Electric Company where she met and married the one and only love of her life, Luke A.Ferrone, in September 1958.

Wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Kathleen had a deep love for and lifelong commitment to her family and friends. She loved being a stay-at-home mom to her four children. Once her children had grown, she resumed her career at Bell Laboratories in Holmdel as an administrative coordinator. As her family grew to include over nine grandchildren, she retired in 1995 to care for them, forming a deep love and lifelong bond with each one.

Her interests included yoga and helping others through her work as a Reiki Master. She especially loved to cook, garden and host special holiday gatherings where homecooked food, family and friends were always in abundance. Kathleen was a parishioner of St. John’s R.C. Church, Lakehurst.

Kathleen is predeceased by her husband Luke Sr. and son Steven. She is survived by two sons, Luke Ferrone Jr. and John Ferrone and his wife Toni; her daughter Kathleen Hendrick and her husband John; and her grandchildren, Megan, Katie, Kathleen, Robert, Anne, Luke III, Oliva, Jack and Lily.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. June 18 at the Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Road, Fair Haven. Family and friends will have the opportunity to gather beforehand from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
