Kevin M. Fitzpatrick

Kevin M. Fitzpatrick, whose skill in carpentry and woodworking lent beauty to many area homes, passed peacefully March 10, 2024, after a brief illness. He was 70 and a Red Bank resident.

Throughout his life, Kevin followed his own path. After earning an undergraduate degree in mathematics and a master’s in business administration, he applied his analytical skills to more solid structures and founded a successful Fair Haven-based home remodeling business.

His interest in waves was also more than theoretical. He was well-known on the early Jersey Shore surfing scene for his graceful style and he enjoyed surf trips to Cape Hatteras and the Caribbean. Kevin later moved to California, where he served as a long-time code enforcement official for the County of Santa Cruz. He returned to Red Bank after his retirement.

Kevin’s wit, generosity and kindness will be deeply missed by family and friends on both coasts. Kevin is survived by his sisters, Anne Henry, Maureen FitzPatrick and Cathy Klaus; brothers, Joseph, Michael and Peter; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Kevin was a member of congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Fair Haven and Santa Cruz, California. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 23 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Fair Haven.

The family asks that you consider dedicating a simple act of kindness to Kevin’s memory.
