Leslie Conway Diggins, age 70, of Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida, passed away Nov. 2, 2024, following a courageous fight against cancer. In her final days, Leslie was surrounded by many family and friends who loved her. Her son David Andrew Diggins (Drew) and sister Tedi Dickinson were with her throughout October, as was her first cousin Joy Jakubecy of Fair Haven.
Leslie attended Rumson Country Day School, The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, New York, and graduated from Rumson-Fair Haven High School and Katharine Gibbs School. She later moved to Southern California, where she and her business partner opened their own successful advertising agency, Huff-Conway and Associates.
In California, Leslie met the love of her life, David A. Diggins of Fair Haven, introduced to her by her childhood friend, Ray (Skip) Smith. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Florida, where Dave worked for Leslie’s father and Leslie continued working as a secretary for a doctor. Their son Drew was born in Florida.
Leslie is survived by her cherished grandson Layton, son David and his wife Chloe of Florida; her mother Joyce Anderson Haebler of Fair Haven; her sister Tedi Conway Dickinson of Mexico; her stepbrothers, Ted in Washington, Philip and wife Roberta in Illinois, and William and Kathryn in California; and her stepsister Wendy and her husband Greg Worrell in Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband Dave; her stepfather, Bill Haebler; her father, Edward Conway Jr.; and her half-sister, Heather Conway.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
