Lois McClelland, 64, of Atlantic Highlands, passed away surrounded by her loving children July 3, 2021, at Riverview Hospital in Red Bank. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, and lived in Atlantic Highlands for the last 10 years.

Lois spent many years working in health care as a private nurse’s aide. She loved nature, most notably gardening, feeding birds and especially the beach. She was happiest spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

Surviving are her two daughters, Melissa Halkias (Elias) and Virginia (Augustine) Montes; son Steven (Janna) McClelland; four sisters, Kathleen Nasso (Charles), Audrey Crinigan, Noreen Wyer and Maryanne Crinigan; two brothers, Thomas Crinigan and Robert Burton; and grandchildren, Dakota, Justin, Rigopoula, Shane, Ioanna and Stevie Jane. Also surviving are an extended family of in-laws, Ronald and Cheryl McClelland, Katherine McClelland and many loving nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Genevieve Crinigan; husband Stevie; brothers, Jackie Burton, Kevin Crinigan and Owen Crinigan; and brother-in-law Pete McClelland. 

Visitation was held July 7 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. 

A funeral liturgy will be offered at 10 a.m. July 8 at St. Agnes’ RC Church, 103 Center Ave., Atlantic Highlands. Burial will follow at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo.
