LONG BRANCH – The Uniformed Fire Division of the Long Branch Fire Department, FMBA Local 68, recently donated $6,000 to the Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center at Monmouth Medical Center, tripling their donation from last year.
For the second year in a row, the 21-member, career firefighter unit raised funds for the Wilentz Center through the sale of “Let’s Give Cancer the Boot” T-shirts. The T-shirts were sold to family and friends, online, at the Breast Center and at other community events held through the fall, including Pooch Parade, Annual Cigar Dinner and Rooks Run. The Wilentz Center is one of a number of community-based organizations to receive support from FMBA Local 68.
The Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center at Monmouth Medical Center offers a full array of outpatient breast health services, from routine mammography screenings to early detection and treatment of breast cancer and benign breast disease. In addition to the center’s main site on the Monmouth Medical Center campus in Long Branch, it has satellite locations in Colts Neck and Howell, and at the Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood.
The Wilentz Center has earned top quality certifications since its founding in 1994, by such organizations as the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers, American College of Radiology, and National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
