Joseph Lucania, 101, of Holmdel, joined God in Heaven on Thursday September 8. He was born in Bayonne, and lived in Holmdel for 60 years. Joseph worked as a design engineer for 45 years for many companies in New York City. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Benedict’s Church and a member of their Knights of Columbus Council #11349. Joseph achieved The Silver Beaver Award, Scoutmaster’s Highest Honor. He also was an avid craftsman and published articles on woodworking in “The Scroll Magazine.” He enjoyed working with young children as he shared his wooden recreations of Pinocchio.
Joseph and his wife Vita worked tirelessly on fundraising to help build Bayshore Community Hospital. After the hospital was established, they volunteered for many years. Above all of his achievements, Joseph was a loving and devoted faith-filled family man.

Lucania and John Lucania; five grandchildren and their spouses, Joseph T., Patricia and Charles, Christopher and Jennifer, Paul and Cheryl and Joan and Jeremy; and six great-grandchildren, David, Emily, Anthony, Joseph, Giovanni and Dante.
